Live-in PA / Carer / Support Worker / Driver for Uni Student Studying Acting

Start:
August 2023

Hours: 7 day Live in Position - Week on/Week off.

Preston

Pay & benefits

Pay: £150 per day
Free accommodation whilst on shift Holidays: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
Oncall support from Client Coordinator
Full bespoke training in the client's particular requirements will be provided

We are recruiting a team of Carers on behalf of our client, a 24-year-old university student who is in his 2nd year, studying Acting at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

Join his team of PA's who provide his personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to really help make a difference to our client's personal achievements.

About our Client

Studying Acting at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston
Lives with Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy and has Cortical Visual Impairment
Fulltime wheelchairuser, but quite independent and motivated young adult
Definitely a "People" Person
Likes to play sport and a big football and tennis fan
He is very competitive and participates in powerchair football tournaments every other week
He enjoys being active and have various pieces of equipment to keep him busy
He enjoys socialising with people and going out for meals.

About the Job

You will provide our client's academic support and health and social care. This is also a flat mate type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect a university student to be doing, like getting out and about to see friends and enjoying his university experience

Our client is confident in his own ability and lives independently with the support of like-minded individuals to assist him with:

Personal Care
Health Care
Social Support
Daily Living
Light Physio exercises
Housekeeping / Domestic duties

About You

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided.

An ideal applicant requirements are:

You will need to be physically fit, calm, patient and caring
Have the ability to commit to shifts (days, nights, weekends etc) Must be Flexible
Fluent in the English Language
Enjoy Social events, work and University
Can carry out domestic tasks such as cleaning, ironing, washing and cooking
Reliable and trustworthy
Provide 'on call' cover for absent colleague
Non-Smoker
You must be able to respect our client's privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
Good organisational skills and being able to work on your own initiative
Have a good sense of humour
A mature and responsible attitude
Excellent hearing and communication skills
Be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
You must hold a full clean UK driving licence as you will be driving our client's vehicle.

You must be able to respect our client's privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
