If you have Operations experience and are seeking a new job in South London, Charity People wants to hear from you.

We are looking for a full-time Head of Operations to oversee service planning and delivery, financial and business management, governance,and strategic development.

This is a hybrid role, with 4 days at home and one day office-based. This role offers a salary of £48,000-£52,000 for your expertise.


You will work across the whole organisation whilst engaging with new customers, such as NHS commissioners and healthcare service leads, in conjunction with the Learning and Development Lead.

You will also ensure an understanding of the company's online trainingofferings in terms of impact, content, delivery, costs, planning, and payment process.

To give you an idea of how this flexible Head of Operations role would look and feel, here are some areas you might have been working in this week:

  • Line management of 4 staff and supporting development of the wider team.
  • Supporting the CEO in strategic and business planning.
  • Communicating the impact and effectiveness of the programs to external commissioners.
  • Liaising with customers to confirm dates and participants for each online workshop cycle.
  • Facilitating weekly internal planning meetings to review workshop bookings, resource allocation, and new business opportunities.
  • Overseeing the Team Administrator to ensure efficient workshop bookings and administrative support.
  • Finance management, including invoicing and credit control.
  • HR management and IT contract management.


The successful Head of Operations will require extensive experience in a similar operations management role within the public or third sector.

You must have experience managing contracts and fostering long-term relationships with both customers and suppliers.


We are also looking for:

  • Project and/or business process management skills
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in a relevant field, such as business management, project management, finance, etc
  • Experience preparing and interpreting financial reports.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to motivate, coach and develop staff.
  • Forward thinking, with ability to contribute to strategic and business planning.
