- Management and leadership of the estates team
- Project manage major and minor building projects including scientific projects
- Undertake space management and planning
- Manage and oversee scientific support and estates budgets
- Oversee service contracts and existing warranties
- Manage Fixed Asset register
- Responsible for Emergency Action Plan
- Represent the Unit at appropriate committees
- Act as Departmental Safety Officer Deputy and Fire Manager Deputy
- Provide key input into business continuity plans
- Chair and promote the Green Committee for the Unit
- Graduate level education in a science subject
- Experience of managing and negotiating contracts
- The ability to manage staff and build an effective team
- Experience of project planning and delivery
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce and present concise reports
- Experience of health and safety management is desirable
- Research experience in a biological laboratory setting would be an advantage
