Accounts Assistant

This job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out within the role and identifies the level of responsibility.

This role will also require other duties to be carried out from time to time as deemed appropriate by your line manager.


Responsible to the Financial Controller.


Key tasks and responsibilities of:

Accounts Assistant

Accounts Payable Duties

  • Process all purchases _(supplier invoices) _and refunds _(credit notes)_
  • Analyse purchases by expense type _(coding invoices)_
  • Obtain invoice authorisation
  • Account for the correct treatment of VAT on invoices
  • Setup and maintain supplier accounts
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve differences
  • Resolve significant issues (e.g., final demand letters) promptly
  • Send out remittance advices
  • Process staff expenses (cash and credit cards)
  • Process credit card statement

CIS Duties

  • Preparation of weekly timesheet spreadsheet for data entry into the system
  • Obtaining a starter pack of a new subcontractor for completeness of required documents to
enable to verify with HMRC

  • Entering in to the system the timesheet spreadsheet and processing payments to
subcontractors as individuals and companies

  • Send out remittance advices
  • CIS Return submitted to HMRC
  • Reconcile subcontractors accounts and resolve differences
  • Assisting HMRC with any ad hoc queries

Accounts General Duties

  • Preparing analysis for Insurance declarations
  • Fixed asset register and asset verification
  • Posting journals as required
  • Accurate data entry of timesheets, holidays, overtime etc.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly Management Accounts
  • Ad hoc duties from Directors of the company
  • Promote the RTS's Values, and Safety programme in all aspects of your role with RTS

Job Types:

Full-time, Permanent, Office based.


Salary:

£24, ,000.00 per year depending on experience
