    We are currently recruiting for a PTS Ambulance Care Assistant for Northallerton Ambulance station for a full time, permanent role who share a value and belief in delivering the highest standards of quality service and patient care.

    Main duties of the job

    Responsible for the care and safe transportation of non-emergency PTS patients.

    Ensuring timely transportation to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres, day units or other places of care.

    At all times the post holder must ensure patient safety and reduction in harm to patients, self, colleagues, and others by assessing risks and adopting safe working practices.

    Person Specification

    Criteria as below

    Essential

  • Must be able to successfully complete the training course for role of PTS Ambulance Person which involves a formal assessment following clinical and driver training.
  • Ability to carry out manual handling including the lifting of patients and equipment.
  • Full driving license with no more than 3 penalty points for new entrants to YAS or a maximum of 6 for existing YAS employees.
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Level 2 entry requirement 3 GCSEs grade A*-C or NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent experience. For the purpose of this job description equivalent experience would be defined as having worked for a minimum of 2 years in a Band 2 PTS Driver post.
  • Desirable

  • Background in a health profession or a customer orientated field
  • Basic IT skills word, e-mail
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and of acquiring new skills/knowledge in the past 2 years
