Bag making machine setter / operator required for a packaging company based in Maidstone.


Bag Making Machine Setter / OperatorPosition Overview

  • To setup machines at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper working order
  • To perform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during production
  • Operate and pack the production of machines in the factory to agreed levels of production speeds
  • To complete paperwork as required
  • To monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running and minimise waste
  • To troubleshoot problems during machine operation
  • To ensure stocks of needed materials and parts are ready and available at all times
  • To ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
  • To ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out
  • To maintain and clean machines to the department schedule
  • To provide information on changeover times, production and progress to supervisors
  • To work efficiently and effectively as part of a team
  • To place parts in semiautomated machines
  • To keep work area tidy
  • To maintain high levels of Health and Safety standards
  • To perform safety checks on every machine

Bag Making Machine Setter / OperatorPosition Requirements

  • Manufacturing / engineering background / interest
  • Previous machine operating experience beneficial but not essential

Bag Making Machine Setter / OperatorPosition Remuneration

  • Attendance Bonus £75.00 per month (£0.44 per hour on day shifts)
  • Available to all colleagues after three months
  • Prorated for part time colleagues
  • Holidays 25 days per year plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days based on length of service
  • Prorated for part time colleagues
  • Flexed allowance you can exchange up to 5 days per year for pay
  • 2 years Full basic pay for 1 week
  • 5 years Full basic pay for 4 weeks
  • 10 years Full basic pay for 8 weeks
10 years and up - Full basic pay for 12 weeks

  • Pensions
  • Matched contributions up to 3%
  • Gym Subsidies 50% of your fees, up to £200 per year.
  • Enhanced Maternity Pay 12 weeks at full pay and then 27 weeks at 90% salary or SMP, whichever is the lower.
