An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Toolmaker to join our clients award winning Manufacturing company based in Heage This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced, mechanically minded Toolmaker.

Main duties and responsibilities of the new Toolmaker:

To read engineering drawings to produce parts required using Lathes & drills, milling machines, grinding machines
To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
Inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity, and defects.
Be able to measure finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
Ensuring that company and legislated Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

About you as the new experienced Toolmaker:

Mechanical engineering qualifications
5 years' experience minimum would be ideal but would see someone with 3 or Recent experience of working manual milling machines, lathes and surface grinders.
Recent experience with handwork tapping, polishing, fitting.
Experience of plastic moulding/extrusion tools would be great but not essential.
