Purpose of the role

  • Work in line with the business planned requirements directed by the Production Manager and Planner, to box goods in good time for shipment.
  • Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, costeffective and safe manner.
  • Take the lead from the Production Manager to improve operational management systems, processes, best practices and continuous improvements.
  • Deliver the strategic and operational objectives set out by the Production Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Planner to ensure the correct level of materials are in place to ensure customers' orders can be transported on time.
  • Build the media in line with and in the priority order as set out by the Production Plan.
  • Ensure the organization's processes remain legally compliant.
  • Record throughput on team board KPI's
  • Record weights and dimensions for shipping / despatch purposes.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with Production leads to ensure the correct level of materials are always available when required.
  • Ensure the quality of media production satisfies customers 'expectations.
  • Ensure each team board is updated daily, addressing the departmental KPI's positively each day.
  • Ensure you operate safely and respecting company H&S policies at all times.
  • Address departmental daily 5S requirements.
  • Ensure that the department is kept clean and tidy and end of shift checks are completed daily.
  • When required provide the Sales team with leadtimes based on the information provided by that team.
  • Continually improve the department and ensure any relevant actions are implemented.
  • Actively find ways to improve Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
  • Work with the despatch and warehouse teams to ensure all products are boxed and packed in the most suitable way for transportation.
  • Provide weights and dimensions to warehouse / despatch teams in good time.

  • Good organisation skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Important qualities include integrity, accountability, empathy, humility, resilience, vision, influence and positivity.

  • No specific qualifications are required.

Job specific notes

  • This role is a physically demanding role where bending, kneeling and the use of nail guns, wood saws is required.
