The Job:


We are delighted to be assisting this client with their requirement for a Trainee Legal Cashier to join their Finance Team.

This is a perfect role for someone who has experience of setting up / taking payments ideally in a banking environment or data processingwith money.

There will be training and it's key you have an interest in working in the finance and accounts team of a legal company.

You will already be working in a Finance department but looking for your next move into Legal Cashiering.


In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that office account receipts are processed promptly and accurately
  • Undertaking daily bank functions to include reconciliation and recording of daily cheque logs; investigating and allocating electronic payments received.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations
  • Carrying out interest calculations on client matters ledgers
  • Verifying and processing disbursements, including disbursement transfers
  • The administration, timely processing and monthly reconciliation of petty cash.
  • Dealing with matter ledger related queries from fee earners, partners and other staff members
  • Dealing with payment enquires from clients, suppliers and banks
  • Maintaining and reconciling the suspense account ledgers and related postings, ensuring prompt return of unclaimed monies.

The Person:


For this opportunity our client is seeking someone with or who has
data processing experience and ideally worked in a bank taking and setting up payments, keying in payments with accuracy is essential.



  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral are essential for this role.
