    Job overview

    We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team player to integrate with the current team and provide an efficient and effective secretarial service to the Cardiology Department at Ipswich Hospital

    You will be responsible for ensuring that the administration needed to support the running of this busy department is completed in a timely way within target timeframes and for the management of 18 weeks and other targets within this speciality. Attention to detail is a must as are excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and plan.

    Main duties of the job

    To manage and support allocated Consultant and team in the Team Leader's absence.

    To ensure a high standard of secretarial and administrative service are consistently delivered by undertaking / delegating all required tasks and activities on a daily basis.

    To utilise the required technology / hospital systems including Big Hand / PAS / Evolve / Lorenzo and any other new technology or system(s) that are introduced and support other team members to do so to deliver an efficient administrative and secretarial service.

    To recommend and support the implementation of service improvements to own and team working practice to improve workflow.

    Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    Provide a flexible, comprehensive, and efficient secretarial and administrative service managing PTL / choose and book referrals and other patient pathway related information identifying any deviation from expected planned progress, implementing solutions and highlighting by exception cases that are not resolved to Team Leader in a timely manner to expedite the continuing care of patients.

    Manage diaries of consultants / other medical staff / clinicians to maximise effective time management
