As
Materials & Inventory Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational continuity.

Essentially delivering efficient, effective and flexible solutions aligned with the fluctuating needs and demands of production.


You will be part of a vastly experienced and supportive team, working together to optimise and provide a best-in-class Supply Chain function to Ipsen at our manufacturing site in Wrexham.


What will you be doing

  • Own the creation, implementation and execution of best practice, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Support the full MRP integration in related IT system Rapid Response & SAP to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value.
  • Ensure that the new integrated system is effective, and that data is accurate and uptodate, resolving any issues as required
  • Ensure that material planning strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in so that material supply meets production requirements whilst optimizing inventory levels and costs
  • Take ownership of material planning issues that arise and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production.
  • Escalate inventory risks and ensure that contingency plans are in place
  • Be the first point of contact for internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely, and effective communication regarding material availability impacts
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management and solutions development activities e.g. VMI
  • Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings and the change process.
  • Ensure effective material planning implementation takes place relating to the changes
  • Monitor, report and present monthly inventory levels for procured and manufactured items

What are we looking for

  • Previous experience of materials and/or inventory planning within a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • IT literate experience in use of SAP and other supply chain planning systems, with high competency on Microsoft packages.
  • A great communicator someone who is able to converse and interact with both internal and external stakeholders/customers across all formats in a clear and concise manner
  • Confident and comfortable in suggesting new ideas and/or challenging back where you believe there might be a better solution
  • Strategic and forwardthinking able to foresee potential bottlenecks and propose timely solutions
  • An agile and dynamic mindset with the ability to adjust priorities in line with demands
