The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy.

**As a
Commercial Officer your main responsibilities would be**: - Support the end-to-end procurement process for the relevant contract and provide consistent expertise throughout.
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop specifications, draft ITTs and take requirements through governance to eventual contract award.
- Manage external stakeholder engagement to ensure that markets and suppliers are able to understand the department's needs and engage with procurements.
- Take responsibility for key aspects of the commercial management of suppliers within the Estates portfolio, ensuring suppliers meet their contractual requirements.
- Provide commercial support and guidance to Estates Supply Chain Management team and broader stakeholders, to support daytoday and ongoing supplier performance management, where appropriate, take lead in managing commercial and legal aspects. Review ongoing suitability of KPI/SLA against business objectives.
- Support regular supply chain performance management governance process, attending supply chain contractual / performance review meetings as appropriate.
- Create positive supplier relationships, encouraging innovation, creation of "value add" solutions, and a strong customer service ethic.
- Working closely with Estates Supply Chain Management and Cost Management team to ensure proposed contract changes and claims are handled in accordance with the agreed mechanism or otherwise tested to ensure value for money i.e. benchmarking.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement and provide high quality support to DWP corporate and Commercial Directorate senior leadership.
- Be flexible on tasks and responsibilities as workloads within the team change.
You'll have relevant experience in:
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience of dealing with complex governance procedures.
- Works collaboratively across a range of stakeholders both internal and external to support stakeholder management and gain buyin using appropriate communication channels articulating requirements and potential commercial solutions.
- Understands and contributes to the development of category strategies, product road maps and sourcing plans.
- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
