    School Nurse - Eastleigh School Nursing based at Moorgreen Hospital - Full or Part Time
    We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and flexible Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SN) who enjoy the challenge of working with children and young people

    You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies and homes working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the 0-19 population.

    You will lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) within the locality and provide professional leadership to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the commissioned service.

    You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions, proactive public health initiatives and work both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the family.

    You will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise and governance in all aspects of safeguarding children whilst being supported by robust organisational supervision, guidelines and policies.

    The primary role of the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) is to lead delivery of the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) including the 0-19 (Health Visiting and School Nursing) High Impact Areas.

    The role includes providing clinical leadership and management support to Community Staff Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses, School Nurse Assistants and Administrative Support staff to support the delivery of a quality 0-19 public health service.

    The transformation will happen in staggered stages Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024.

    The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

    Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

    BSc/PGDip& #92 Hons Public Health Specialist Practitioner (School Nursing) or equivalent (NMC Registered Part 3)
    Full UK Driving Licence (and access to a car)

    Dual field registration (HV/SN)
    Child Branch Registration or similar qualification
    Evidence of ongoing learning and professional development

    Knowledge of and Delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009
    Experience of clinical audit and risk assessments
    Knowledge and understanding of Public Health and Health Promotion
    Clinical governance frame work and CQC
    Ability to work in partnership with CYP, families and colleagues in a range of health settings
    Experience of staff conflict resolution and operational planning.
    Baby Friendly Initiative (or equivalent) Breastfeeding Management Training in accordance with Level 1 Service Delivery/ universal service
