Job summary:

The Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology operates across the QEHB, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope Hospital sites.


We have a fabulous opportunity for somebody to join our team and help us manage / monitor the RTT and performance along with assisting our Operations Manager and Group Manager with their administration requirements.


Ideally, you will already have an understanding of RTT and performance targets along with experience of working within a hospital or healthcare setting.


You must be able to work within a team in order to collectively monitor capacity and ensure clinics are fully utilised, capturing data and reporting appropriately.

Main duties, tasks & skills required:

The post holder will support the implementation of the 18 week target across the Trust by validating the 18 week data supplied.

The post holder will use various data sources to clarify and update information systems to ensure the data recorded on accurately reflects the 18 week RTT for that patient.

To understand complex clinical pathways and be able to link up 18 week activity within the pathway.

To ensure all admissions, waiting list entries, outpatient appointments and attendances outside a clinic are linked to the correct pathway ID.

Where multiple pathways are identified to ensure that the one correct pathway is generated and all relevant treatment statuses are correct.

To develop a good understanding of diagnostic and non diagnostic procedures.

To understand the validation process for breached and prospective patients and to use this process to validate patients' 18 week pathway.

To be able to follow validation process and to use this process to validate patients' 18 week pathway.

To understand and know the 18 week rules, enabling them to make decisions on the validity of entries on Trak and use own initiative to make changes when necessary.

To advise other departments within the Trust (e.g. wards, medical secretaries, admissions teams) on 18 Week Data Quality and performance.

The Post holder will also support the senior management team with other admin duties as they arise. This may include arranging meetings, taking minutes, collating data etc

Qualifications:


Essential:

BSc Hons Clinical Technology or equivalent.

Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent level of knowledge.

Evidence of Continual Professional Development (CPD).


Experience:


Essential:

Post qualification Nuclear Medicine Experience.

Has experience of paediatric nuclear medicine procedures and techniques.

Expected to carry out specialist procedures with highly complex equipment, adapting protocols where necessary.

Experience of working within a quality management system.


Demonstrates a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge relating to the hazards posed by and the precautions required when dealing with ionising radiation arising from sealed and unsealed radioactive sources and patients.

Has a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge of radiation protection issues and radioactive decontamination.

Has an understanding of patient, staff and public risks arising from radiation exposure.

Has knowledge of the underpinning legislation relating to nuclear medicine i.e, Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017, Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016, National Regulations for
