    Job Summary:

    As a Special Education Teacher, your primary responsibility is to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

    You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

    The goal is to facilitate academic, social, and emotional growth for students with special needs, ensuring they have equal access to education.

    (Must have experience working in a SEN school)

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):

    Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs, outlining specific academic and behavioral goals.

    Collaborate with parents, guardians, and support staff to create effective and tailored educational plans.

    2 Instruction and Differentiation:

    Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students with various learning abilities and disabilities.

    Implement differentiated teaching strategies to address individual learning styles and strengths.

    3 Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

    Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and progress.

    Regularly review and update IEPs based on assessment results and observed student performance.

    4 Classroom Management:

    Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

    Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to address individual student needs.

    5 Collaboration:

    Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to integrate students with special needs into mainstream classrooms.

    Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and other collaborative sessions.

    6 Parent Communication:

    Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on students' progress and address concerns.

    Collaborate with parents to reinforce learning strategies and support students' academic and social development at home.

    7 Professional Development:

    Stay informed about the latest research, teaching methodologies, and assistive technologies in special education.

    Attend professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; state teaching certification.

    Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.

    Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

    Working Conditions:

    Work primarily within a school setting, collaborating with other educators and support staff.

    May involve working with students one-on-one or in small groups.
