A leading manufacturer of highly-engineered engine testing products, is seeking an Mechanical Inspector.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and aspires to learn, grow and be a positive influence in a smalland growing team.

We design, develop and manufacture products and systems for our customers include Ford, GM, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen, Siemens, GE, Pratt & Whitney, and a variety of other major US and international companies.


Purpose of Job

The Inspector reports administratively and functionally to the Operations Manager and Lead Fitter. The inspector is responsible for the inspection of incoming materials and in process assemblies consisting mainly of machined parts, fabrications andcastings.

The inspector will be an integral part of the Production team working closely with the stores and Production Controllers ensuring parts are processed and inspected prior to assembly.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Using CMM, Faro Arm, Mitutoyo Height Gauge as well as conventional inspection equipment.
  • Complete and process inspection reports.
  • Create Non-Conformance reports where necessary.
  • Communicate daily with Operations Manager / Lead fitter to prioritise workload.
  • Use internal software system to reject / accept components.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:


  • A manufacturing / engineering background with at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a precision inspection role.
  • Relevant engineering qualification and / or apprenticeship
  • Proficient in reading complex machining drawings.
  • Experience in inspection of precision ground components would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of highspeed rotating equipment would also be an advantage.
  • Basic IT skills required in Microsoft Word and Excel
