Within GEMS' Business Unit, the
Business Platform BP UK is a highly skilled team of 50+ people developing and managing assets and portfolios related to power, gas and environmental products in the UK markets, actively supporting the country's ambitious path to a net zero economy.

RES Trader to be based in
-
London. This is a permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer, possibility of flexible working, and competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Accountabilities:
- Ensuring performance of the renewable trading activity by a strict follow up and a deep understanding of risks and P&L
- Display a professional trading risk management culture and be demanding on operational excellence
- Improvement of pricing methodologies around aggregation (balancing, delta profile) in close collaboration with Intraday trading, risk, analysts, quants, IT and the V&A desk
- Improvement of volume risk management
- Management of solar/wind hourly shapes and complex/new pricing structures
- Leading the evolution of the Green Power suite through GEMSTONE project
- Building a fruitful collaboration with intraday traders : putting in place performance indicators and creating a virtuous learning circle between
- Leading the automation project on DA
- Operating within the approved risk mandate
- Improve the profitability of EUM portfolio by a strong collaboration with origination and other functions: providing guidelines and feedback on the performance of the activity
- Developing PPA activity in collaboration with Origination team and R-GBU
- Developing short term flexibility business to mitigate risks associated with the portfolio.
- Ensuring the quality of the front to back chain with a main focus on data quality and invoicing with the support of back office functions.
- Coordination with the REGO book management
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required
***:
- Trading experience with a strong knowledge of power markets
- Previous experience working with developers / IT Quant is a plus
- Coding experience in Python
- Ability to set a clear vision and to motivate people achieving a common goal
- Fluent in English
- Ability to communicate easily (with sales and nonquantitative / non digital people)
- Interest in Energy Transition
