St Roch's requires an Out of School Care Worker
Exceptionally reliable and dedicated childcare worker required for our out of school care and holiday club. We are registered to care for children from primary school age children at Royston Primary School. We are looking for an Innovative thinker and planner who can be part of our highly professional team.


Purpose of Post


To assist the out of school manager in providing a caring, secure environment, through individual attention and a series of well planned, resourced and supervised activities that reflect government guidelines.

To be directed by the manager in assisting the service to operate to its full potential.

You would

  • Plan, prepare and deliver a suitable programme of inventive and imaginative activities to meet the needs and interests of the children
  • Monitor and evaluate service delivery.
  • Ensure the safe transportation of children from school to the out of school care
  • Produce written reports by keeping relevant records and ensuring that agreed procedures are implemented.
  • Supervise and care for children ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
  • Help develop and maintain good relationships and communication with parents/carers and all relevant parties to facilitate daytoday caring needs.
  • Encourage parental support through the development of effective working relationships;
  • Consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities.
  • Ensure that risk assessments are completed prior to commencing activities with children.
  • To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm.

You must:

  • Hold a minimum of SVQ 3 in Children's Care Learning and Development or equivalent qualification
  • Be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence
  • Be able to promote good practice and provide first class care
  • Be fully conversant with current legislation and best practice guidance
  • Adhere to legal responsibilities under _Children_and Young People
    (_Scotland_)*_Act 2014 _and the Health and Social Care Standards
