Description
We are currently looking for an Academic Quality Manager to join our busy Academic Registry team.


As Academic Quality Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Academic Quality and our European colleges and campuses to deliver education of the highest quality that meets the expectations of our students, partners and regulators.

You will furtherdevelop systems to monitor and improve our academic performance in key learning and teaching, student experience and quality metrics such as student satisfaction, progression and retention.

You will also contribute to curriculum design and help to launch newcollege partnerships.

The role requires an agile, self-starter who can use their initiative and be an active and productive member of a small team with a broad remit.

Home-based with occasional UK travel


Salary:
£36,000 to £42,000


Hours of Work:
Full-time permanent (37.5 hours)


Academic Quality Manager Duties:


  • Provide insight into how our students are performing across the European division in metrics such as pass rate, retention, progression, student satisfaction and degree outcomes. Work collaboratively with our divisional colleges and campuses to identifyareas of good practice and development plans.
  • Develop dataled and innovative strategies in support of our colleges and campuses to collaboratively strengthen student outcomes.
  • Facilitate Quality Assurance Working Group meetings and support with divisional academic governance.
  • Work on curriculum design, development and enhancement projects both in support of existing college partnerships and new business development (e.g., the Annual Learning and Teaching Report)
  • Support the Head of Academic Quality in initiatives for our academic teaching staff (e.g., training/CPD events, online learning, etc.)
  • Ensure that the UPE quality manual and its policies are up to date and release information to colleges as required
  • Keep up to date with changes in the HE sector and facilitate the sharing of best practice
  • Support with any requirements of our external bodies (e.g., OfS, QAA)
  • Maintain records of the Academic Registry including processing any programme and module change requests
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Academic Quality in oversight of the Academic Registry
  • Be constantly striving for excellence and actively looking to adopt and implement new opportunities, technologies and initiatives
  • Occasional travel to UK colleges to provide local support as required
  • Any other duties as required as part of the role.

Academic Quality Manager Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and curriculum design/development
  • Strong understanding of UK HE policies and practices
  • Knowledge of regulatory and other related bodies including the Quality Assurance Agency, Office of the Independent Adjudicator and Office for Students
  • Evidence of improving academic outcomes such as pass, retention, progression and student satisfaction
  • Experience of designing and managing academic qualityrelated processes
  • Experience of chairing and preparing formal paperwork for boards and committees
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience handling and prioritising multiple workloads
  • Ability to conduct advanced research and analysis
  • Experience of leading academic projects.

Desirable:


  • Knowledge of the HE sector in mainland Europe
  • Experience of developing policies and strategies
  • Evidence of using datainformed practices to produce written reports and action plans
  • FHEA or FAUA Status
  • Postgraduate degree.
