  • An exciting opportunity has arisen in Scottish Water's Portfolio Management Risk team for a Risk Coordinator.

Location:
Hybrid Role

  • This will be a hybrid role, where you will split your time between working from home and at our Stepps office (The Bridge). Our team comes together 3 Wednesdays in the month; however, you will be able to work at the office more often should that be your preference.

Main Purpose of the Team:

  • Within our Capital Investment directorate, the Portfolio Management function is responsible for effective management of capital investment through best practice commercial and portfolio controls.


We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational skills, data analysis and good attention to detail with the ability to gather data from several data files and convert them into business reports.

What is DV2 (Delivery Vehicle 2)?

  • A significant period of work aimed at enhancing water and wastewater services across Scotland is underway, boosted following the appointment of a network of companies to enhance the delivery of one of Scotland's biggest capital investment infrastructure programmes.


This will span the next six years with a six-year extension option thereafter - known as Delivery Vehicle 2 (DV2).

It will operate as a single entity to maximise collaboration, consistency and integration to help meet net zero emissions targets, efficiency and supply chain support as well as deliver excellence in service for customers and communities.


Main Purpose of the Role:

  • This role requires high levels of both risk management and communication skills. You will develop, coordinate and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the programme of works in accordance with the Scottish Water Capital Investment appraisal process through effective risk management. Additionally, you will monitor the delivery of risk to help Scottish Water achieve business efficiencies and satisfy regulatory requirements. You will meet regularly with the Scottish Water's DV2 to provide updates on progress against plan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the risk management approach at project, programme and portfolio levels across the investment portfolio in accordance with Scottish Waters risk management framework
  • Capturing risk intelligence data produced within the business and communicating in order to capitalise on continuous improvement and development in the area of risk management
  • Ensuring consistency and drive better compliance and risk data capture, as well as being responsible for timely risk reporting submission into SW reporting cycle.
  • Managing risk and change within the allocated programme portfolio.
  • Suggesting and implementing individual programme risk strategies to ensure best value in the delivery programme including consideration of programme milestones, delivery plan targets, seasonal constraints, resource availability and capability.
  • Coordinating and providing advice on best practice risk management associated with the capital investment portfolio.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve programme strategic objectives and programme outputs to improve levels of service in accordance with the Delivery Plan.
Supporting the strategy leader in providing a key client interface with Capital Investment Team- Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Excellent understanding of risk management-
  • MS Office skills
  • The following three are key for the role: Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.-
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills-
  • Demonstrable experience working within the field of Capital Investment programme delivery, ideally with experience of risk management practice-
  • Experience in facilitating, providing advice in relation to Risk management at a portfolio, programme and project level-
  • Experience of report development and ability to think logically and interpret complex data.-
  • Numerate and analytical with strong presentation creation skills.-
  • Ability to handle, interpret and consolidate the results of large data sets, ensuring that the results are accurate and interpretable for the relevant audience-
  • Good time management and report writing skills-
  • Full UK driving licenceDesirable:
