As a member of our development team, you will play a key role in designing and constructing components for OCI Object Storage systems.

Object Storage is a highly scalable and efficient public service for storing vast amounts of unstructured data. Components encompass Web Servers, Storage Servers, Cloud Gateways, and Bulk Import Appliances. You will be in charge of developing new components and features, starting from the initial concepts through design, implementation, testing, and operation.

Your intelligence and expertise will lead to a sense of achievement as you innovate new features and supervise their utilization by customers in a production environment.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior architects and Product Management to outline requirements
- Document designs in collaboration with the team
- Construct complete systems & services
- Lead enhancements across the organization in specific areas such as shared code, engineering practices, ops practices, development process, ownership, recruitment, mentoring
- Lead the design and structure of their product/service
- Ensure operational readiness and excellence of their product/service. Also, lead planning. Recognize and address risks in their project and product architectures
- Code implementation, review code authored by colleagues
- Develop test automation
- Share accountability with other team members for deploying new code to production
- Operate services with the team that host substantial volumes of data
- Trusted to act as Tier2 or specialized escalation point for operational incidents
- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents during calls and to support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Act as the primary contact for resolving intricate operations problems
- Create new metrics and dashboards to enhance situational awareness
- Work independently with minimal supervision


Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a British passport to meet the security clearance requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in a prominent Object-Oriented Programming language - Java
- Proficiency in data structures and design patterns
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Desirable experience with RESTful Web Services or Storage Systems
- Experience with massively scalable systems is beneficial, as well as any prior cloud exposure
