Title:
Fundraising Manager


Reporting to:
Head of Fundraising


Salary:
£32,000 to £37,000 (depending on experience)


Hours: 35 hours per week, though 4 days a week may be considered.

Contract:
Permanent, with a mix of home/office working (Centres in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton).


About us
The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) is an established, multi award winning charity

that provides a safe, welcoming environment to thousands of refugees asylum seekers and migrants

living in the Black Country and Birmingham.


Over the last six years, the charity has had a period of rapid growth and we're now looking to expand the income generation team in order to maintain it's crucial open-door service and deliver other areas of support to our beneficiaries through current and new funding income streams.


We are keen to hear from people with a fundraising or sales/marketing backgrounds currently working in a similar role, who would relish the opportunity to be part of the team in raising funds for some of most vulnerable people in the UK.

About the role


The aim of this role will be to be identify and raise funds from a wide range of key income streams (including trusts, foundations, corporate, individuals, major donors and statutory funding) supporting the head of fundraising and wider team while also taking the lead in other areas as per the charities fundraising and communications strategy.

Main responsibilities:


  • To build relationships with individuals who want to support RMC maximising income and PR opportunities, while continually researching, identifying and approaching potential new supporters and donors who are empathetic to the charities vision, mission and values.
  • To build relationships and steward funders designated supporters and donors, including those who currently fund in year, and those who may support RMC in the future.
  • Building excellent relationships externally in identified areas through networking, talks and presentations, that can help deliver improved outcomes for our beneficiaries through partnerships and other support.
  • To ensure that all contacts and communications are recorded in a compliant manner on RMC's database, establishing excellent record keeping so that contact with funders and key contacts is appropriate.
  • To undertake reasonable additional tasks and activities as required by the line manager
  • To comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.

Person Specification:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent proven experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple funding income streams
  • Knowledge of a wide range of fundraising techniques
  • Understanding of the fundraising code of conduct and other legislation relating to fundraising including data compliance.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to translate existing or proposed service delivery into inspiring proposals
  • Understanding and experience of creating budgets.
  • Ability to gather outcome and impact data (qualitative and quantitative), and creating reports as required for funders.
  • Ability to work well on own initiative, proactiveness is a must.
  • Ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines and adapt to change
  • Ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and as a team player
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
