    The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

    Hourly rate of pay: £ - £

    Temporary for 23 months from date of appointment.
    Days and Hours of Work:
    Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00
    Flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.

    The purpose of the Equity & Inclusion Education Outreach Service is to provide bespoke support to identified learners to improve their school attendance, engagement, attainment, and achievement. The Equity & Inclusion Outreach Service works with leaners on a short-term basis to support them to take full advantage of opportunities in school. The Education Outreach Officers will also work in partnership with families to promote positive home-school links.

    In line with GIRFEC principles, the Education Outreach Officers will work closely with school colleagues, including learners' Named Education Contacts (NEC) and other agencies as part of the 'team around the child' to provide early and effective support to ensure that all learners meet their full potential. The service will be led by a Depute Head Teacher for Equity & Inclusion.

    This is a unique and exciting post which is funded by the Strategic Equity Fund Consistent with the requirements of this funding, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that children and young people's progress is aligned to the associated stretch aims in our Raising Attainment Strategy in key areas including:

  • Achievement of Curriculum for Excellence literacy and numeracy;
  • Attainment of National Qualifications;
  • Improved school attendance and engagement;
  • Reduced school exclusions and
  • Participation of young people into positive post school destinations
