Head of Operational Requirements
Remote Working with a few trips to HQ in Bristol per month
Permanent - £70,000 - £80,000 + Benefits.
Unify is a proud, exclusive partner to a UK aerospace start-up, who are establishing a game-changing, cutting-edge digital approach to modern military jet design.
They are creating a worldfirst and need a Head of Operations Requirements to help take them to the new heights.
Role in brief.
As Head of Requirements you will work closely with their customers, gathering requirements and understanding their operational needs and how these relate to the company's product and its variants.
In this new role you will be at the forefront of their product strategy and will need to demonstrate benchmark levels of vision and collaboration to ensure that the strategy succeeds.
They are looking for somone from a fast jet back ground who understands the Military avation market. You will be the voice of their customers ensuring user requirments are at the front of their design processes.Responsibility
- Ensure compliant configuration control and company awareness of Variant requirements.
- Define target User audience for Stage 3 programme and MCA utility within Sales strategy.
- Lead for operational and training inputs to RFI/RFP responses for global opportunities.
- Establish lasting relationships with senior UK MoD personnel (e.g. ACAS, Commandant Central Flying School, Air Warfare Centre) to harness endorsement of their strategy in the international market place.
- Chair Cockpit Working Group and lead the cockpit design philosophy.
Key Deliverables.
- User Requirements and ConOps for MCA, AJT and Aggressor aircraft by Q2 202
- Cohesive strategy with UK MoD (Air Command, DSE/DIT etc.) for UK plc support to the product launch and initial 12 aircraft sales.
- Cockpit Working Group database.
- Customer future aircraft requirements database.
Qualifications & Training.
- Good breadth of knowledge of Air Sector military structures associated with customer training processes, including aircrew, Fighter Controllers, Forward Air Controllers, Tactical Data Analysts.
- Application of strategic leadership and innovation management across a multifunctional team, leading the development of new solutions to meet Customers' developing needs.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of defence customer mission capability requirements, and where training capability can provide real value and advantage to the discharge of military effect.
- Preferably fast jet background with instructional experience.
Experience.
- Typically educated to a degree level in an appropriate discipline.
- Previous experience of strategy development.
- Strong PM and business development capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a complex and fast paced programme of activities, whilst ensuring connections and consideration of wider business implications and new business opportunities.
- Requires high level of negotiation, influencing and communication skills across a wide customer base and with partner organisations.
- Demonstrates a high level of freedom in interactions internally and externally.
- Networking within the competitor environment and external organisations.
