If so, GSL Education can help. GSL Education is actively recruiting a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to work at a client Secondary school located in South Shields starting immediately.

SEMH Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

• The ability to identify students going into crisis mode and follow/be familiar with the Positive Behaviour Support System (PBS).
• Provide 1:1 support for a young student with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Support the delivery of in-class activities, promoting independent learning where possible, and encouraging appropriate social skills.
• Follow Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met.
• Previous involvement in a Wellbeing and Mind Team (WIMT) as an added advantage.
• Previous working experience with Educational Psychology services, Paediatricians, CAMHS or Therapist.
• An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
