- Overseeing the tender process for capital projects from tender issuance to contract award and managing the commercial aspects during project delivery, including supervision of commercial staff.
- Leading the procurement of essential work scopes, ensuring cost efficiency while minimizing risk and negotiating contracts to maintain long-term value for money.
- Developing Procurement and Commercial strategies in alignment with Capital Projects Governance requirements.
- Cost and forecast management through regular reporting, change management adherence, as well as payment and expenditure oversight.
- Providing robust post-contract commercial management to support project objectives, including negotiating compensation events and ensuring compliance with Commercial Manual principles.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent with professional membership or working towards membership of a relevant body such as RICS or CICES.
- Knowledge of Utilities Contract Regulations 201, commercial governance for large capital projects, and experience in contract management for projects.
- Experience in estimating, sourcing management, cost control, contract administration, and familiarity with NEC/FIDIC Contracts.
- Proficiency in drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, Standard Form construction contracts, and bespoke contract arrangements.

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Senior Contract Manager to join the Procurement and Commercial (P&C) team, providing support for the Eastern Green Link joint venture projects.
Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for pre and post contract procurement and commercial assistance for the key projects within the SSEN Transmission business. This role offers excellent prospects for growth within the SSE JV portfolio.
