An exciting opportunity to ensure robust controls are implemented for the Europe & Middle East region of this UK PLC.

This will enable the team to have better visibility and resolve issues from the outset.
6 Month FTC, Up to £400per day, Immediately Available
You will support and drive improvements in all aspects of Balance sheet control, analysis, investigation, reporting and review.

There will be a particular focus on working capital and IFRS15, with a need to review contracts across multiple countries and currencies.

You will report to the Financial Controller and take responsibility for the following:
Key Project Responsibilities

Review of European Country Balance sheets including review of local supporting reconciliations with a view to clean up historic balances and improve visibility of movements
Review of country reporting packs/information requests with a view to streamlining this in light of findings from the balance sheet review
Linking in to the above, supporting development of balance sheet controls currently being undertaken through an existing 'UK SOX' workstream which is overseen by the PLC and EME Risk & Compliance teams
Overhaul of the Hyperion consolidation journals process, streamlining the number of journals and the posting process
Support through the consolidation/year end close process in Jan 2023

Business Partnering

It is essential you are able to business partner confidently and professionally; you will be communicating across different time zones, countries, and levels of seniority.

Your role will be to explain the changes in the balance sheet and the new process movingforward.

Therefore, your ability to influence finance teams, in the Europe & Middle East, will be essential to the success of the project.

Skills and Experience

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
Must have written a technical analysis of a piece of accounting under IFRS in the last 1218mths
Experience of a multicurrency consolidation which uses a consolidation system either through industry or work in practice
Experience of using a largescale consolidation and reporting system is essential. Experience of using Hyperion (Oracle financial reporting system) or equivalent
High standard of Excel and PowerPoint based financial reporting skills
