    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care Team working in GP practices across the Health Board.

    The team is both ambitious and motivated, focusing our work around the best interests of patients and continually improving the services we offer. We have a strong reputation for supporting professional development.

    Main duties of the job

    You will be working in GP practices across the Health Board. You will be involved in carrying out prescribing audits and identifying patients for review and/or appropriate cost effective medication switches and deprescribing. You will also be contributing to the training and development of prescribing successful candidate should be a team player who can work efficiently without constant supervision and is comfortable working on their own at are looking for someone with both excellent IT and communication skills who is able to prioritise their own workload. It would be an advantage to have knowledge and understanding of medicines management in primary care, however training and support will be given.

    The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • NVQ3/BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent training
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
  • Knowledge and understanding of GP Practice and Community Pharmacy in the supply of medicines
  • Desirable

  • Knowledge of GP computer systems
  • Skills

  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organisational and prioritising skills
