The successful candidate will have a very good knowledge of plants and strong organisational and interpersonal skills. As well as a self-starting work ethic, resourcefulness and high pragmatism, they must be comfortable with managing a small team. Appropriate prior experience is essential, preferably including a leadership role. Experience of working on calcareous soil would be a strong bonus, and decent digital skills helpful but not essential.
We would really like to find someone who is looking for a long term position, who has a strong interest in rare plants, and to whom the opportunity to lead the preservation, development and enhancement of a private (but much-visited) multi-generational family garden appeals strongly.
There is 2+ bedroom on-site tied accommodation available. The salary offered will be commensurate with the role and with the candidate's own experience. Preferred start date is mid to end June.
If you might be the right person, please do apply with a CV and covering letter to Wakefield Family, c/o
PS if relevant, there may also be part-time work available for the successful candidate's partner, depending on their skillset and interests. This would not have to be in the garden.
