    Description

    This is an exceptional new position for a VP of Data Science with a global, data-driven company with cutting-edge technology who leverage data to serve as a true market differentiator. The person in this role will be at the forefront of shaping and evolving data, analytics and research and creating a centre of excellence for the global organisation.

    The individual in this role will be asked to:

    • Lead a diverse team of Data Scientists, Analysts and Engineers
    • Oversee the development and execution of product research, internal data consultancy, and data accessibility initiatives
    • Provide recommendations on business, product, and data strategy.
    • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to ensure commercial viability, and product governance.
    • Define and monitor the data function's OKRs, including the measures of effectiveness for data science & analytics.
    • Embed the data function into different parts of the business (product, marketing, tech) and across product lines..
    • Lead advanced quantitative analyses using statistical modelling approaches.
    • Investigate and implement new analytical and data products, determining the value of modern advances, i.e. AI/Generative AI
    • Use a modular approach for building the mature Data Science offering, creating components that can be repurposed to ensure continuous evolution of the next generation of products.

    And should have experience of:

    • Growing and leading Data Science teams
    • Statistics, mathematics or other highly quantitative fields.
    • Overseeing data-led projects.
    • Integrating Data Science into different parts of a business (i.e product, marketing, tech)
    • online and offline model delivery.
    • Identifying business hypotheses worth pursuing.
    • Hypothesis testing whilst including real-world constraints.
    • Data structures, databases, and ETL processes.
    • AWS, Snowflake, DBT, Jupyter notebooks, Spark, Mongo, and Postgress or similar.
