Export Control Officer

Salary:
£30,000 - £40,000 Depending on Experience + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Location:
Derby - Flexible Hybrid Options Available - 50/50 mix between remote and site work
Proactive are currently in search of an Export Control Officer for a world leading Defence company based in Bristol.

They are pioneers in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority.

As a Export Control Officer - Submarines; you will operate within defined global processes & local policies to address business needs, collaborating with functional colleagues as required; provide key support to your department and the wider Defence Export Control Team.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Support licence flow downs & recordkeeping requirements. Is able to draft basic level export licences with supervision.
  • Participate in global & functional Export Control Enhancement Programme Working Groups & provides input for improvements to tools and processes.
  • Support the Export Control Managers in journey to best practice (LiFE) improvement work & provides ideas and suggestions for improvements to tools and processes.
  • Support Export Control Manager and wider RRSL business with the screening and resulting investigations of 'hits' on Third Parties, suppliers and customers in the business.

Skills/ Experience:


  • Background in compliance or Trade controls, Export Control specific experience preferred.
  • Degree or similar level qualification or working experience.
  • Generalist knowledge of UK and U.S. Export Control Regulations, including the ITAR and EAR 600 Series.
  • Understands and is able to draft basic level export licences in SPIRE & SNAP-R under supervision.


Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
