Official Veterinary Surgeon (Authorised Officer) to join our team at the Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority, Felixstowe, Suffolk IP11 4SS.You will join us on a
full time, permanentbasis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£34,723 - £43,516 per annum.

About the Official Veterinary Surgeon role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified
Official Veterinary Surgeon(OVS) to join the team at Port Health.

Port Health's mission is the protection of public and animal health, carrying out a range of checks to ensure imported goods are safe for all of us in the UK.

Your role will be to work with our existing OVS's in dealing with veterinary checks on imports of products of animal origin to ensure they are safe for distribution to the UK.

To become part of our team, you will be enthusiastic, keen to learn and thriveon working in a fast-paced environment.

This role will work covering our service provision at both the Port of Felixstowe and Harwich International Port.

You will participate in a rotational shift pattern covering 06:30 to 22:00 weekdays and 06:30 to 14:30 at weekends which will attract a 14% shift allowance on top of the base salary.

About you:

You must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS). You will also possess good verbal and written communication skills, as well as decision making and negotiation skills.
