About the team

The Performance and Intelligence team are part of the Quality, Practice, Relationships and Support Division which sits within the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate.

The role reports to the Head of Performance for Children's Social Care and Youth Justice in a team that consists of 4 Social Care Performance Officers, 1 Youth Justice Performance Officer and one Strategic Analyst.

Working closely with our performance colleagues in education and commissioning, our aim as a team is to support the organisation with improved outcomes for children to ensure that no one is left behind.

We take a support and challenge approach and provide a sophisticated performance profile that includes a robust set of data, reporting and feedback mechanisms.

The team manages all statutory data returns to the Department for Education, Ofsted, the adoption and special guardianship leadership board and the data requirements for Ofsted inspections.

We respond to freedom of information requests and provide ad hoc analysis and information.

About the role

As a performance officer you will be responsible for making sure the front-line service teams receive and have access to the information they need to sustain and further develop improvements to practice.

This will be partly through an existing reporting schedule and meetings with members of the service at various levels, as well as maintaining and building new data visualisation dashboards to help them access their own performance information.

Shortlisting criteria

  • A robust understanding of children's social care and it's data
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Good communication skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working alongside senior managers to deliver successful outcomes linked to the Ofsted inspection framework
  • A technical understanding of Tableau and/or Liquid Logic's system C, formerly LCS, would be helpful but is not essential
