    Kettering Breast Screening Unit is housed in a purpose built unit at Kettering General Hospital. We have an eligible breast screening population of approximately 58,000 women. We have 2 mobile screening units and 2 static rooms where we undertake symptomatic work, interventional procedures and Contrast Enhanced Mammography.

    The role would suit an experienced mammographer who is enthusiastic, motivated and looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.

    The successful candidate will support the Superintendent Radiographer and oversee the day to day running of the unit whilst supporting the development and delivery of new techniques.

    Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Practitioner in Breast Imaging to join our team at Kettering Breast Screening Unit.

    We provide both breast screening and breast symptomatic services for North Northamptonshire.

    As an Advanced Practitioner you will support the Clinical Director of screening, Breast Screening Programme Manager and Data Manager to deliver a high quality, patient focused service, implementing new technologies and clinical developments. You will act as a role model and point of contact for the radiographic team.

    We are a pro-active unit and Contrast Enhanced Mammography is an integrated part of our imaging pathway for symptomatic women.

    The successful candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic Advanced Practitioner Radiographer with post graduate qualifications in Image Interpretation and Interventional Procedures, or a candidate with a desire to develop their clinical practice.

    The post holder will be a key member of our breast imaging team and will have previous experience of day to day management within the NHS.     • BSc Radiography or equivalent
    • Post graduate qualification in Mammography.
    • Current registration with HCPC
    • Evidence of o n -going CPD
    Desirable
    • Post graduate qualification in Image Interpretation
    • Post graduate qualification in interventional procedures
    Experience Essential
    • Extensive experience working within a breast screening unit
    • Ensuring local compliance with IR(ME)R regualtions
    • To use existing knowledge and skills to assist in the delivery of the NHSBSP Consolidated Standards and relevant KPI's
    Desirable
    • Experience of leading a team to deliver clinic efficiency
    • A desire to be involved in development of new techniques and audit
    Skills Essential
    • Proven team leadership skills and commitment to service improvement
    • Ability to prioritise workload/delegate tasks and adapt to a changing work environment.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Car driver, with access to a vehicle to get to mobile van when required
