Description

I am looking for a passionate and dedicated Youth Support Worker to support SEN children with complex needs.

As a Youth Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and mentorship to young people facing various challenges in their lives.

You will work closely with the youth, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans.

Responsibilities:

Build trusting relationships with young people and create a safe and supportive environment.
Provide emotional support, counseling, and guidance to young people with complex needs.
Assist youth in developing life skills, such as communication, problemsolving, and decisionmaking
Organize and facilitate group activities, workshops, and events for young people.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, counselors, and educators, to coordinate services and ensure a holistic approach.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of each young person and make necessary adjustments to support plans.

Requirements:

Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
Background in care is highly advantageous, however, not essential.
Being open to personal care is a must.
Strong understanding of the issues and challenges faced by SEN children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with young people.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
