The role

To provide strong leadership and develop the logistics/ inventory/materials team/stock handling/value added processes to achieve both effective and efficient stock control management and on time supply to internal production facility.

Skills & experience Planning**:


  • To create a daily production plan that outlines the order in which units will be worked upon, and the associated staging bay number, operative type, duration of tasks and material requirements.
  • To optimise working capital, ensure that appropriate unit assessments are conducted at Off Hire, during storage and before unit preparation to determine the damages, degradation in storage and the amount/type of labour and materials required to complete works; and ensure this information is maintained in appropriate systems.
  • Own the planning process and ensure that the plan is communicated to all internal and external customers (Central functions, Production, Material stores, 360, Plant & Equipment)
  • Ensure timely documentation is prepared to execute works in line with plan, this includes financial paperwork (e.g. CAPEX requests), work instructions (e.g. gather technical drawings) etc.
  • Ensure efficient unit selection to best match the customer requirements and therefore minimize works and associated costs.
  • Ownership and management of materials ordering and delivery process to optimise Working Capital and labour requirement
  • To prepare a weekly/monthly look ahead production plan that outlines labour and materials requirements for the upcoming weeks.
  • Arrange subcontractor and agency staff as required. This includes summarizing the skills required, duration, obtaining Management authorization and liaison with local labour suppliers.

Logistics:


  • Own the safe, timely and efficient movement of units, materials, 360, plant & equipment to deliver plan
  • Own the safety and compliance of all plant & equipment on the site
  • To ensure material supply meets production requirements with optimum stock levels and working capital
  • To ensure 360 supply meets demand with optimum stock levels,
  • Employ process improvement techniques to continuously improve the logistics operation
  • Ensure that the data in IT system is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
  • Coordinate with Transport and Support Services planning teams to ensure balanced flow of traffic through the site
  • Ensure the safe operation of loading and unloading activities with external suppliers

Health and Safety within their perimeter of control

  • Responsible for management of SHEQ, safe working practices and adheres to Elliott Environmental policy.
  • Responsible for embedding a health and safety culture.
  • To report and investigate as appropriate and implement corrective actions for any observations, near misses, accidents or incidents in line with Elliott policy.

Management/Leadership

  • Monitor staff performance through appraisals, performance reviews, setting personal development plans in order to develop staff and maximise talent potential.
  • Weekly & Monthly documenting and reporting overtime worked to HQ and reporting total hours including, holiday, sickness & overtime for payroll.
  • Manage, train, mentor and plan the use of human resources.
  • Responsible for managing HR issues including discipline, absence, capability & performance management.
  • Develop a culture of 'team working' to ensure smooth operations and consistency.

Other

  • Proven track record of driving a safety culture into the workplace
  • Has P+L understanding for material and labour cost control.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a planning role and managing the smooth supply of materials in line with customer requirements and budget.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of Lean fundamentals within the manufacturing industry
  • Has proven experience and ability to work effectively with internal and/or external customers.
  • Experience of delivering results against safety, service, operational, quality and cost targets.
