Temporary Contract 15th January

During the REF2021, the English Language and Literature Unit at the University of Wolverhampton achieved a GPA of 3.2 whilst 92% of research was judged World-leading, with equally impressive results in all categories, including Impact.

The Centre for Transnational and Transcultural Research (CTTR) achieved grant income close to half a million and it encompasses internationally recognised research projects, including the AHRC funded Novel Perceptions project.

Building on this outstanding research success, CTTR is rolling out a new, ambitious vision for the production of Research Excellence in which the Digital Humanities in particular will have a growing presence.

CTTR is appointing a temporary 0.5 Research Assistant to help staff in the School of Humanities - which comprises English Literature, English Language, Linguistics and Creative Writing - to develop, execute and grow their research.

The role will entail a wide range of activities including helping colleagues develop kickstart new and develop existing research projects.

Duties will include digitising textual phenomena; helping create databases; undertaking archival research; organising public engagement events and impact work; aiding the writing of and (book and funding bid) proposals.

A proportion of the allocated time can be devoted to the execution of the appointee's own research.

Interview Date: 22nd December 2023
