Our digital delivery centres are hi-tech, state-of-the-art facilities that allow our teams to maximise their capabilities.Enterprise Integration Services (EIS) sits in the CDIO group.
EIS handle HMRC's core integration/middleware services, taking care of over a billion transactions every year and connecting hundreds of HMRC services.
We provide platforms for delivering Application Programming Interface (API) access to HMRC systems.We also provide artefacts and support for API consumers (software developers and other Government Departments) to build and manage authorised software that seamlessly integrates with HMRC digital services.
We use modern open-source products and work in an Agile way to deliver flexible, effective integration solutions.Job description:
You will lead the Delivery Management team in Enterprise Integration Services (EIS) and be an integral part of the EIS Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
This is a demanding role and, as part of the SLT, you will engage at a strategic level and be involved in setting organisational objectives and influencing policy.
As the Head of Delivery Management, you will be responsible for the Delivery Management of EIS demand, business relationships, and oversee the EIS Project Management Office (PMO).
You need to be experienced and comfortable operating at scale and as the connection between multidisciplinary business areas and stakeholders.
You will be a credible, influential and encouraging team-leader, with an outstanding background in Delivery Management.You will also be a skilled team champion, motivator and confident communicator, with a proven commitment to continuous improvement in self and others.
Person specification:
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Continuous development of the EIS Agile Delivery framework, ensuring transparency and quality of delivery;
- Evolving the Delivery standards and framework to ensure quality, reliability and responsiveness of service, incl. monitoring and reporting;
- Ensure EIS Delivery complies with agreed and regulatory standards, building Integration services which fit with HMRC IT Strategy, are fit for purpose and fit for use. Also ensuring delivery into Business as Usual is done according to the Live Services Transition Checklist;
- Leading the EIS Delivery Portfolio of work and fostering excellent strategic working relationships with senior stakeholders, internal and external to CDIO;
- Maintaining a 'bigger picture' understanding of HMRC business, to help identify priorities and ensure projects and programmes in the EIS Delivery Pipeline are suitable;
- Proactively managing EIS Delivery risks, resources (incl. budget, people, etc.), schedules and environments;
- Leading EIS Delivery Governance to ensure strategic alignment of priorities; exercise control, manage decisions and resolutions and enable the timely dissemination of accurate and relevant information;
- Managing suppliers to ensure and maximise quality, timeliness and value for money;
- Driving the impacting of Projects and Change Requests to ensure accurate estimation of resources and budgets required;
- Negotiating at senior level on technical and commercial issues, influencing the development and enhancement of services, products and systems. Cultivating business opportunities;
- Line manage Senior Delivery Managers; undertake all management duties in line with HMRC policies, such as, performance management, attendance management, learning and development in a multilocation
