Do you want to work for a commercial, forward thinking and fast growing law firm? We have been retained to recruit a Financial Controller to work alongside the senior leadership team.
The role is offered on a Hybrid basis and offers a fantastic work lifebalance.
Reporting to the CEO, this is a number one role within this business and is a real opportunity to get involved with the business decisions and growth curve that this organisation is looking at.
- Produce timely month end figures including development of the Management Information Pack.
- Full management of the cash flow across the businesses in the group.
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting cycles, both for internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Develop and maintain robust Credit Control procedures across the business to monitor and recover debts.
- Research and source additional business funding as required to support capital projects.
- Support, as needed, financial modelling and due diligence for any planned acquisitions by the company.
- Full management responsibility for the Finance Team.
- Lead and motivate the team, monitoring day to day activities.
- Review the team structure and workloads
- Implement training and development for team members as appropriate.
- Work across all levels of the business with Partners, Fee Earners and Support Staff to ensure accurate and correct financial information within the system.
- Maintain a high level of system and process knowledge within the departmental teams.
- Be the main point of contact with the bank ensuring all reporting requirements are met.
- Oversee and manage the annual audits (statutory accounts and Solicitors Accounts Rules) working closely with the external auditors.
- Ensure the financial systems are robust and fit for purpose and can support the current business activities and future growth plans.
- Ensure adequate financial controls are in place across the business to meet our compliance obligations and prevent fraudulent activity.
Skills and qualifications
- Qualified accountant
- Analytical and technically strong
- Strong financial modelling skills: preferably with experience of building formula driven models for presentation to third parties (banks and funding partners)
- Must be proficient in Excel (knowledge of SQL and VBA desirable)
- Good IT skills with knowledge of current technologies and experience of new systems implementation
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Energetic and selfmotivated
