About The Service

Cardiff Councils Support and Accommodation Service provide accommodation, advice and support to vulnerable single people and families in housing need.

Our services run 24/7 365 days a year.

We are recruiting for one permanent and one temporary post up until 31st March 2023.


About the job

The Supported Accommodation team for families are based in 4 localities across the city at Ely, Gabalfa, Adamsdown and Grangetown with further developments opening next year.


The role involves day-to-day management of the Councils portfolio of supported accommodation, which provides emergency housing for clients who are homeless and assessed as priority need.

Running a service that operates 24/7 365 days a year managing staff members across multiple locations.

Working within a trauma informed approach and in partnership with multi-agency colleagues delivering diversionary activities.


As the Senior Supported Accommodation Officer, you will have the opportunity to develop the practice of others within the team through joint working and supervision.

You will also be responsible for managing the performance and development of a team of Supported Accommodation Officers.


What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for dynamic, motivated and creative individuals with the ability to foster positive relationships.


Within the team, you will work with the Senior Supported Accommodation Officer, Senior Assessment and Support Officer and Supported Accommodation Manager, delivering and developing our support provision for homeless families.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of effective systems to ensure quality service is provided to families.

You will have experience of providing excellent customer service, work well in a team and have a flexible approach.

You will have exceptional communication and IT skills and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
