    Description

    The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Officer. The successful candidate will be expected to work from one of our four Asset Resource Centres: Inverness, Dundee, Newbridge or Cambuslang.

    This is a part-time job share post, working 17.5 hours per week.

    The successful candidate will be required to lead the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service on the development and management of personal protective equipment and strategies in line with relevant PPE regulations.

    Previous experience in the implementation, use, management and maintenance of PPE in an operational environment. Candidate shall have an up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations relating to PPE.

    Candidates should have good knowledge of undertaking and completing risk assessments for PPE.

    Candidate must hold, as a minimum, an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.

    Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
