    About Us:

    Mobile Dredging and Video Pipe Inc. (MDVP), a subsidiary of Carylon Corporation, is a stable, privately owned environmental contracting company which has been in business since 1963.     MDVP has an opening for an experienced hands-on controller/office manager to manage the accounting, payroll operations and administrative staff across three locations – the headquarters in Chester, PA, and satellite offices in Newfield, NJ and Beltsville, MD. This position works with the executive management team under direction of the President to handle the company's day-to-day financial and administrative operations.

    Position: Controller

    Location : Chester, PA

    Pay : $125,000-$150,000/year.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger through preparation and analysis of monthly financial results and the review of those results with the Management Team.
    • Use of Excel to manage data and prepare management reports and company analytics.
    • Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and analyze and reconcile expense and revenue accounts.
    • Supervise and oversee accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and administrative staff.
    • Assist with special projects as requested by President and Executive team.
    • Maintain financial records in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
    • Provide information and communicate with vendors, owners, and external corporate CPA team.
    Qualifications:
    • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
    • Ability to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environment.
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience with Navision software a plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to lead and manage in a team fostered environment.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a 4-year college or university.
    • 5-7 years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and income and payroll tax filing.
    • 3 years of supervisory experience.
    • Experience working in the construction industry or for a contractor a plus.
