    Part Time - Hours Per Week

    A rare opportunity has becomeavailable for an enthusiastic, well-organised and proactive person to join theWakefield Recovery and Wellbeing College team in the role of Recovery CollegeCoordinator.

    The role is to cover maternityleave for 12 months (commencing end of July/beginning of August)at a Band 5 level, Monday toFriday, across usual office hours. The College has a focus on the wellbeing ofits team members and offers flexible working arrangements, with candidatesbeing able to discuss working days/hours of work that tie in with personalcommitments (providing contacted hours are covered).

    The Recovery College offers aunique opportunity for anyone looking to further their career experiences, butespecially for those with lived experiences of health and wellbeing challengesand those who are working at a Band 3 or Band 4 level currently. A RecoveryCollege Coordinator position is one of the few opportunities to obtain a Band 5role, and the experience of working at this level, without the need for aprofessional qualification ( nurse, OT, physio, etc.). Very clearlydemonstrated equivalent experience to the qualifications listed will alsoenable you to qualify to apply for this role.

    Main duties of the job

    Recovery College Coordinatorsare the heart and soul of the Colleges course and schedule planning. They leadon organising course delivery, partnership development, supporting ourco-facilitators and volunteers, and working with our local communities todevelop a local offer, often to tight deadlines. For this reason, it isessential that applicants are proactive and incredibly organised in theirapproach to work.

    As part of the role ofCoordinator, the successful candidate will be required to travel across thedistrict to support the development and facilitation of courses, to network andpromote the College, and to develop partnerships. They will be required toco-facilitate sessions for members of the public, to conduct one to oneappointments with new Recovery College students, to chair meetings, to workclosely with people from a variety of backgrounds and to deputise for theRecovery College Principal at certain events/meetings. This is a very variedrole and requires confidence to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, aswell as a high level of skill to manage ones time effectively.

    The successful candidate willshare the role of Coordinator with the Colleges second part-time Coordinatorso will need to clearly demonstrate that they work well as part of a team, aswell as being able to work well independently.

    Job responsibilities

    The post holder will be responsible to the Wakefield Recovery &Wellbeing Principal for the delivery of specific projects designed to ensurethe effective development and implementation of the Recovery College offer in Wakefield.

    The post holder will have no budgetary, signatory or line managementresponsibilities.

    The post holder will supervise staff and volunteers involved in theRecovery College on a day to day basis to ensure effective delivery.

    The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of theCollege including developing the prospectus, marketing the courses, enrollingstudents, co-ordination of the tutors and peer training and management ofvolunteers.

  • Educated to Degree level in an appropriate subject or with a demonstrably equivalent level of experience.

  • Experience of working in a mental health setting.
  • Experience of implementing the principles and practice of a recovery approach to mental health.
  • Co-ordinating projects or elements of projects of programmes and understanding project work.
  • Computer literate with working experience of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and social media including Facebook Twitter and Instagram.
  • Presenting to groups of people.

  • Lived mental health experience.
  • Knowledge of national policy/guidance affecting NHS (mental health).
  • Knowledge of marketing.
  • Experience of working with teenagers and young people, working age adults and older people.
