Hybrid role Multiply is a DfE funded project to provide opportunities for adults without a Level 2 qualification in maths to improve their numeracy skills. A project coordinator is required to identify community needs and delivery partners, monitor contracts and small grant awards, ensure funding compliance and complete funding returns. Experience of adult education sector (or similar) and funding requirements would be beneficial.


Key responsibilities:

  • Work with internal and external partners to design, commission, promote and deliver innovative learning solutions.
  • Oversee the delivery programme across partners considering factors such as scheduling, promotion, alignment to council priorities and activities, alignment to other community activities and accessibility.
  • Support and oversee the marketing and promotion of learning opportunities working with community engagement and communications colleagues.
  • Support the collection of case studies, best practice and feedback from partners, professionals and participants that can be used to share locally, regionally and nationally to promote Multiply.
  • Work with internal and external partners, set up and oversee monitoring systems to collect data on promotion, participation and outcomes aligned to DfE requirements.
  • Work with internal and external partners, set up and oversee processes to support financial planning and monitoring of the Multiply funding as well as ensuring spend is appropriately accounted for.
  • Coordinate internal Multiply project meetings and associated governance, providing required information for discussions, decisions and actions.
  • Provide regular feedback and reporting to the Community and Continuing Education Manager and the Head of Community Engagement and Equalities.
  • Represent the Council at national and regional multiply networks.

Qualifications:


  • GCSE in English and Maths.
  • Education to a degree level or equivalent desirable.
  • Teaching qualification desirable.

Experience & Knowledge:


  • Experience of managing adult education or similar experience.
  • Experience of developing and/or delivering community learning solutions.
  • Experience in working in an engagement/outreach environment with more niche, seldom heard audiences and underserved communities.
  • Considerable experience of project management and delivery, including with and through partners.
  • Knowledge of government policy and legislation relating to education desirable.
  • Experience of working collaboratively and developing effective partnerships with multiple partner organisations, individuals and stakeholders.
  • Experience of community engagement especially hard to reach or vulnerable groups.

Skills:


  • Confidence to work independently, including identifying and influencing new community partners.
  • Able to negotiate with influence and tact to gain commitment from a range of partners and people at all levels who will contribute to the programme.
  • Ability to synthesise and explain complex information in reports, presentations and talks to a wide range of audiences in sometimes challenging environments.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with community groups and partner organisations
  • Tact and diplomacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently to a project brief remotely and in the office.
  • Minimum of 12 months
    recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
