Job summary


A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced individual to join our team at Haxby Group Training, as a Commercial Lead.

You will have a lead role in the development of education and training opportunities within the remit of Haxby Group Training, driving the growth and expansion of the business according to the strategic plan and agenda.


You will work closely with the wider Haxby Group Training Team and develop a key working relationship with the Director of Education and Training.


Main duties of the job


You will work collaboratively to meet the needs of customers, students and trainees ensuring the highest standards, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing leadership and operational management.

You will be responsible for enhancing our training portfolio and commercial revenue streams, including leading on Consultancy Opportunities.

This work will involve identifying training and developmental needs and drive suitable initiatives to meet customer requirements, collaborating with the Clinical Lead to design and devise a variety of training programmes and projects.

You will contribute to commercial training strategy and be responsible for overseeing its implementation and assessment of its outcomes, whilst also contributing to the development of internal Key Performance Indicators which will support the strategic objectives to help to maximise the potential and quality of Haxby Group Training.


Overview of Haxby Group Training
Haxby Group Training co-ordinates the development and delivery of training activities and courses based in primary care. We have developed a series of practice-based interactive courses for clinicians and support staff.

Our aim is to support practices to develop and maintain crucial skills for their staff and assist in achieving compliance with CQC and other quality standards.


As a Primary Care Training and Workforce Hub in Humber Coast and Vale, we also provide support for a growing network of local practices, co-ordinating local schemes on behalf of Health Education England.

This includes aiding practices to develop supervisors and assessors and employ and train new practice nurses, health care assistants, advanced clinical practitioners, and physician associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:


The duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Manager role for Haxby Group Training may include any or all of the items in the following list.

Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Partners/Directors or Management Team, dependent on current and evolving workload and staffing levels:


  • Leading and supporting the development and growth of Haxby Group Training and any other training opportunity or business run/developed by Haxby Group, following policy and procedures.
  • Leading on or assisting with projects as appropriate to develop new business opportunities regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Collaboratively developing KPIs in respect of business development and working to meet these.
  • Identifying and assessing future and current training opportunities and needs.
  • Translating requirements into training services and products that meet opportunities and customer needs.
  • Developing a training services plan and annual training delivery programme, planning, and facilitating agreed educational opportunities, events and programmes.
  • Delivering training and courses, deploying a wide variety of training methods delivering content in keeping with relevant local and national evidence and guidance.
  • Preparing or overseeing teaching plans and developing or overseeing the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals.
  • Monitoring and evaluating training programmes' effectiveness, success and return on investment and reporting on them, periodically evaluating ongoing programmes to ensure that they reflect requirements.
  • Maintaining a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practice, staying abreast of new trends and tools in training and development.
  • Directing structured learning experiences and monitoring their quality results.
  • Managing a delegated budget and undertaking budgeting and financial management activities as required within Haxby Group Training, and in the implementation of any training activity or business.
  • Coordinate, write and disseminate reports, including budget and financial reports, regarding training activities and other educational provision by or supported by Haxby Group Training.
