We have an excellent opportunity for a trainee post at band 6, who will undertake the training for Emergency Nurse Practitioner course and x-ray interpretation.

This will be accredited by Christ Church University.


On successful completion of the course the post holder will be eligible for band 7 from their band 6 trainee post There is vacancy on all three sites and site preference and hours will be discussed at interview.

The primary focus is to work as an independent practitioner providing consistent high quality and timely patient centered care.

To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, referral and discharge of a diverse range of patients with minor injuries/minor illnesses and chronic disease management without reference to a doctor and within their level of competence and agreed protocols

The post holder will support in

Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.

Making referrals to other health care professionals.

Prescribing medicines (if qualified to do so)/PGDs and treatments.

To work according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct / Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards of conduct, performance and ethics (SCPE)

To provide a clear focus for clinical leadership and to be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high standard of holistic, patient-centred care

To be accountable for co-ordinating patient care, the management of resources and performance of staff

To be responsible for the implementation of Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives

To ensure the Trusts core values are at the heart of everything we do.


To provide education and mentorship for the development of staff aimed at delivering evidence based practice, supporting and promoting staff development and high quality patient care.

To be prepared to work on any of the Trusts sites at sometimes short notice.


Unless agreed via flexible working be prepared to work a shift pattern that covers the needs of the unit / service.

Post holders will need to be supportive to the Emergency Departments and can take referrals from the ED EPIC who also will support discharge
