Ratings Operations Specialist - London

Role Purpose

The Operations Specialist, Ratings Operations is a critical role in enabling the effective and efficient operations of global Ratings processing and playing a key part in driving end to end process simplification that meets customer needs.

Quality, accuracyand timeliness of the ratings information and its dissemination to the marketplace are critical within this role.

As a strategic partner to multiple roles across the organization (Commercial, Data, Analytical, Compliance, Technology, etc.), the OperationsSpecialist uses their business knowledge and operational acumen to continuously improve operational processes and align to business value.


Business Impact

A visible role with global impact and coverage across the Ratings practice while working with the broader data, technology and operations community.

This role works closely with Commercial, Technology and Data teams to connect transformation initiatives withanalytical and other end users.

The role also works with analytical staff and leadership to ensure a high level of operational efficiency, problem solving, and innovation.


The Team / The Business:


Key Responsibilities

Performs operational tasks such as setting up workflow system jobs, managing interactions with team and performing documentation checks.- Extracts data from internal and external documentation and accurately enters data and content into required systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with pre-defined targets.


  • Validates ratings information in systems and publications prior to rating release.
  • Support completing team priorities (job processing, continuous improvement, change management) with pace and quality to meet customer needs
  • Show proficient understanding of the endtoend ratings process, knowledge of SOPs, operating manuals, standard work
  • Guide analysts and other business partners through the ratings process and support change management of improvement efforts
  • Voice continuous improvement needs, participate in problem solving and process improvement efforts to live the Ratings Operations (ROS) mission and achieve the ROS vision
  • Understand key metrics to support the management and improvement efforts of ROS
  • Understand the role of Ratings Operations and its alignment with other functions within S&P. Connect key partners to solve business problems, participate in improvement efforts to meet customer needs

Background & Experience:


  • At minimum 2 years of work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and a customerservice orientation.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, high pressure, fluid environment while performing multiple tasks and ensuring high quality, error free output.
  • Must be confident, calm under pressure and possess influencing skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a teamoriented, global, and multicultural environment.
  • Strong technical skills with Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Experience leading projects highly valued
