Senior Draughtsperson - Power SectornUK (Hybrid or Fully Remote Working)nSalary to £35k + competitive benefits package

Our client is a leading consultancy who provide engineering and professional planning services to the power sector.

They specialise in the design and survey of Overhead Lines, Underground Cables, and Substation Systems for major power transmission infrastructure the UK and internationally, working closely with the likes of National Grid.

We are now looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual with a passion for CAD to support the drawing Office teams.

The role

As a Senior Draughtsperson, you will be responsible for providing CAD support on major power projects.

You will be a part of the team that is responsible for the production of layout plans and OHL route plans.

You will report directly to the Principal Draughtsperson.


nJob purpose;nMicrostation 2D/3D CAD:

nProduction of insulator set drawings from individual components.nProduction of earthing diagrams from engineer's sketches.nProduction of stage-by-stage diagrams from scope documents.nProduction of tower outline drawings for condition assessment.nTower and Gantry Foundations.nProduction of tower & gantry wire frame models from general arrangement drawings.nProduction of wire clearance drawings – carry out electrical and safety clearance checks.nCreating 3D pole models – and associated GA drawings and Material lists.nReinforced concrete.nRe bar schedules.nDCO drawings.nSubstation layouts, cabling routes and cross sections.

nSolid Edge 3D CAD:

nTower modelling from original GA drawings or site measurements.nProduction of new tower GA drawings, material/ bolt lists & piece small details.nProduction of component drawings.nCompilation of drawing lists, Bills Of Quantities and Line schedules for overhead line projects.nLiaise with engineers to resolve project specific design issues.nSite visits when required for.nMeasuring and assessment for feasibility/design suitability.nChecking all types of drawings as required.

nDevelopment and input into CAD systems and Best Practice Documents for the following areas:

nStructuralnFoundations & WCDnCompiling and formatting reports.nDue to the nature of the business and the typically ongoing nature of projects, you will be expected to undertake additional duties outside the general description outlined above.

The candidate

We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual with a passion for 2D and 3D CAD. You will ideally be educated to A level standard (or equivalent).


nQualifications:
Ideally educated to A level standard (or equivalent) but must have at least 5 GCSE's (Grades A-C or equivalent) including English and Maths

nExperience:

Minimum 5 years relevant experience.nExperience in 2D and 3D CAD Design.nMust be a flexible team player with the ability to schedule own work and meet deadlines.nAbility to support and mentor junior team members.
