Description
Our Client is a fast-growing speciality distributor and manufacturer of speciality ingredients to the UK Food and Supplement sector.


They are now seeking a
Nutritional Scientist.This position will be based in Redditch, Worcestershire and is a
full-time permanent role reporting to the Innovation Manager - Medical Nutrition.


Job Purpose

  • To produce technical insights for the functional food and medical nutrition supplement industry, attending webinars, exhibitions, seminars and events.
  • To support writing technical dossiers, designing research and managing participants during the research process.
  • To work to source novel active ingredients to support various food and supplement projects from consumer supplement level to NHS medical nutrition.
  • You will support project management of NPD, working with Manufacturing, QRESH and NPD departments to develop functional foods and supplements.
  • The role will also support the development of marketing material with the Marketing department and our clients inhouse B2C wellness brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new products & manufacturing protocol for internal and external customers
  • Coordinate sourcing and onboarding of key ingredients from external manufacturers
  • Lead consumer and clinical research into validating claims for products with active ingredients
  • Coordinate collaborations with research organisations and key partner businesses

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification in Nutrition or Dietetics (desirable)
  • Registered Nutritionist or Dietician (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Functional Food and Supplement industry
  • Experience developing functional food or nutritional supplement formulations
  • Experience developing technical dossiers and product white papers
  • Experience designing clinical research
  • Experience working with universities (desired)
  • Have a strong understanding of food supplement regulations and guidelines
  • Strong interest in Nutrition, from public health to personalised nutrition
  • Good level of IT literacy, including the use of Microsoft Office package.
  • Ability to present to external audiences virtually and in person
  • Networking skills
  • Highly organised


In return, our Client is offering a basic salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (salary is negotiable and dependent on experience) plus benefits.
