    Position Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is pivotal in upholding the operational functionality and reliability of machinery, equipment, and facilities within our organization. This role encompasses a spectrum of responsibilities, including conducting routine maintenance, diagnosing and resolving issues, and driving enhancements to bolster overall operational efficiency. Collaborating closely with various departments, the Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in scheduling maintenance activities to minimize disruptions. Additionally, they contribute to the seamless execution of factory shutdowns, meticulously document maintenance procedures, and identify avenues for process and equipment improvements while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain optimal factory efficiency and reliability.
    • Execute routine maintenance tasks with precision.
    • Address reactive maintenance needs, conduct fault-finding exercises, and execute repairs, encompassing both electrical and mechanical domains.
    • Apply astute problem-solving skills to analyse issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to elevate operational performance.
    • Oversee facility maintenance operations.
    • Collaborate with contractors and liaise with suppliers as needed.
    • Efficiently schedule and organize maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion.
    • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns as they arise.
    • Facilitate smooth factory start-up processes.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in either the Mechanical or Electrical field.
    • Possession of a Level 3 engineering qualification.
    • Proficiency as a multi-skilled Engineer.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar operational environment, preferably within a 24-hour manufacturing setting.
    • Desirable experience in ATEX/COMPEX environments.

    Competencies:

    • Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft suite of tools.
    • Preferably experienced with ERP systems for procurement and purchase order generation.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Ability to comprehend and interpret electrical drawings and motor control circuitry.
    • A collaborative team player with a balanced skill set in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
